Fast & Furious TV Show Greenlit at Peacock, With Vin Diesel as Executive Producer
About
Overview
The Fast & Furious films are getting their own television series, with none other than Vin Diesel himself serving as executive producer. As reported by Deadline on October 1, 2026, Peacock has officially given the green light for a Fast & Furious show. The series is slated to premier in 2028, the same year that the very last movie in the franchise is also set to release. Vin Diesel first mentioned the show in May 2026 during a talk at NBCUniversal’s Upfront event, where he explained that fan demand drove Universal Pictures to consider expanding its high-octane IP. “As you all know, we are very precious about these movies but over the last decade, we’ve realized that the fans have wanted more, they wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories,” he said at the event. “And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space.” Oh and of course, family was part of that decision: “That’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family will be protected in the TV space,” he added. Mike Daniels (Sons of Anarchy, PONIES) and Wolfe Coleman (9-1-1: Lone Star) are both writers and co-runners for the show, which is one of four series planned for the Fast & Furious universe. As told by Deadline, one of these shows will be helmed by Nick Wooton (The Endgame) and Charmaine DeGraté (House of the Dragon), while the other two will be handled by Joe Henderson (Lucifer) and Ingrid Escajeda (Griselda). With this in mind, it doesn’t look like the Fast & Furious world is set to end anytime soon, although its final film is on the horizon. This last movie, titled Fast Forever, is slated to release on March 17, 2028. It will mark the eleventh entry in the film franchise. Vin Diesel spoke about the movie at Fuel Fest in June, where he detailed how he negotiated with Universal Pictures to bring its last adventure back to Los Angeles. “The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast and Furious [in] April 2027?'” he told fans at the event. “I said, ‘Under three conditions.’ First, is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner.” Given that O’Conner was played by the late Paul Walker, this statement led fans to wonder how the character will return. Walker’s brother was firmly against the idea of portraying his sibling in in Fast Forever, suggesting that AI could be used to bring him back to the franchise, instead.
