Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2's Nintendo Switch 2 Version Delayed to Early 2027
About
Overview
Cold Iron Studios, developer of the recently released four-player co-op PvE sequel Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, has announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version has been pushed back to early 2027. It was originally planned to ship this month. "After careful consideration, we now plan to release it natively on Switch 2 in early 2027," the studio said in a statement. "This extra time will help the team deliver the best possible version for the hardware. Thank you for your patience and understanding. In the meantime, the team at Cold Iron remains aggressively focused on tuning Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 to be the best possible experience for every player." Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is the second major third-party game today that's pushed back its planned Nintendo Switch 2 version. IO Interactive also announced that 007: First Light won't see the light of day on Nintendo's newest hardware until early next year. IGN gave the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation version of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 a 7 out of 10, saying in part, "Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 isn’t going to make you leave a co-op shooter you already love at the altar, but it is a good time with friends."
