Overview

If you've been waiting for a discount on Apple's latest premium earbuds, now's a good time to buy. The AirPods Pro 3 have dropped to $189.99 at both Amazon and Best Buy, saving you $60 compared to Apple's $249.99 MSRP.

While we've seen them dip a little lower during major sales events (to around $179), this is still one of the best prices available all year, and a solid deal if you're already in the Apple ecosystem and looking to buy right now.

That's something I'll always bring up when I'm discussing discounts and deals. We're not all machines, and some of us are just looking for the best possible price at a time when we actually have the money and are willing to drop it on a premium purchase like this.

Sure, you will more than likely find these at a better price during Black Friday. But that's a bit of a wait until November, so if you don't have the patience, you can use that extra $10 or so to pay yourself the gift of time instead.

Besides, if you do want to wait and save that little bit extra, that's a great option as well! You do you when it comes to big purchases like this.

What's New With the AirPods Pro 3?

So what's the big deal? I'll explain the best I can. AirPods Pro 3 launched in September last year, and remain the best wireless earbuds for most iPhone owners. They look similar to the previous generation, but Apple made several meaningful upgrades under the hood.

Alongside improved active noise cancellation and audio quality, the biggest addition is built-in heart rate monitoring, giving users another health tracking option without always needing an Apple Watch.

Battery life has also been improved, and the earbuds now carry an IP57 rating, making them more resistant to dust and water than previous models. Combined with Apple's seamless pairing, automatic device switching, and spatial audio support, they continue to offer one of the most polished wireless earbud experiences available.

Another standout feature is Apple's Live Translation, powered by Apple Intelligence. While it also works with the second-generation AirPods Pro and AirPods 4, it's an especially compelling addition for AirPods Pro 3 owners, offering near real-time language translation during conversations. Reviews have been largely positive across the board, with many users praising how naturally it works in everyday situations.

Prefer Over-Ear Headphones?

If you don't get on with earbuds, Apple's AirPods Max 2 remain one of the best premium noise-cancelling headphones you can buy, especially if you already own an iPhone. AirPods Max 2 launched earlier this year with improved audio performance, better battery life, and tighter integration with Apple's latest software features.

They're significantly more expensive than the AirPods Pro 3 at $549.99, but for frequent travellers, commuters, or anyone who wears headphones for hours at a time, they can be a worthwhile upgrade. But, they're also regularly discounted throughout the year and are worth keeping an eye on if you prefer the comfort and soundstage of over-ear headphones.

In fact, they're down to $449 right now at Amazon. Again, that's not as cheap as we saw over Prime Day, where they dropped to $399, but it's certainly better than nothing. If you can afford to wait on these, I would certainly assume they will be discounted again in a few months time either during Amazon's Big Prime Deal Days, or over the Black Friday sales.
