Overview

As much as I enjoy multiplayer games, it's becoming more and more difficult to actually gather my friends for a session. We're growing up and have less time for games due to all our boring adult responsibilities, bleh. But give me a two player co-op game and I can normally convince my girlfriend to at least give it a go. Puzzle games are her favourite, so I reckon we'll be able to get properly stuck into We Were Here Tomorrow, the latest in the co-op puzzle series. And we only have to wait a month to play it.

As we just revealed at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, We Were Here Tomorrow is launching October 20. It's the sixth game in the We Were Here series, all co-op puzzle games that involve you and a buddy teaming up to escape some sort of predicament. The games have taken us to castles, a deserted island, and now, a mysterious facility.

We Were Here Tomorrow is the next game in the co-op puzzle series, and this time, it's sci-fi. Solve puzzles in a mysterious facility using your walkie talkie to communicate with your partner. Launching October 20, wishlist it on Steam.

This one has a much more sci-fi feel, but it still follows the same formula as its predecessors. You and your partner get separated and have to communicate via walkie talkie to solve puzzles. You won't be able to simply hop over and solve the other half, you have to talk your other half through each problem, and they need to do the same.

There are new abilities that you can upgrade in We Were Here Tomorrow. One of them is a block, which looks useful for keeping buttons pressed down. Another is a deployable platform that can help you clamber up to hard-to-reach spaces.

Details

This game has a story written by Claire North, so for those of you who enjoy a narrative, it's got you covered. And I know this is PC Gamer, but if you want to play with friends on their consoles, you'll be happy to know the game supports cross play between Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
