Everything Coming to Disney+ in September
About
Overview
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Toy Story 5 are both making their way to Disney+ in September, where they'll be joined by new episodes of The Simpsons and plenty of Hulu Originals. The only slice of Disney that isn't seeing many streaming debuts this month is Marvel, but there's already plenty of homework to work through before Avengers: Doomsday. Without further ado, here's everything new Disney+ subscribers are getting this month. Disney+ is starting off September by crowning a winner in the new Dancing With the Stars spin-off, The Next Pro. Throughout the month, Disney+ will also be getting pretty much every episode from a selection of ESPN podcasts, starting with the The Mina Kimes Show and the Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective Podcast. One of two particularly big movie premieres this month, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is landing on Disney+ after a pretty disappointing run at the box office. Our 5/10 review also wasn’t as positive as we’ve been about The Mandalorian TV series, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth checking out. Disney+ will be accompanying the release with an official podcast as well as the premiere of a new LEGO Mandalorian series. Aside from Dancing With the Stars, the other big reality TV series coming to Disney+ throughout September is the modeling competition show Project Runway. Following the release of Camp Rock 3, Disney+ is getting another batch of its Locker Diaries shorts themed around characters from the musical movie. Disney+ recently re-acquired the streaming rights to Pokemon, and kicked things off by dropping the first 26 episodes of the original Indigo League series. I was confused about the somewhat random selection of episodes, but it looks like Disney+ is going to be adding the Pokemon series in batches. MonsterQuest originally aired on the History Channel in the late 2000s and features some solid monster hunting of the era. And yes, Disney+ is getting yet another podcast, this time about and in the lead-up to the new season of Dancing With the Stars. Like previous Sony Spider-verse movies, Kraven the Hunter is making its way to Disney+ after an 18-month stint at Netflix. We gave the film a particularly grim 3/10, and unfortunately it didn’t fare much better at the box office, ultimately leading to Sony’s abandonment of its Spidey spinoff franchise. The aforementioned new season of Dancing With the Stars kicks off right in the middle of September, with new episodes livestreamed directly onto Disney+. As Dancing With the Stars continues, Disney+ will also be the streaming home for the concert movie for boy group PLAVE. Subscribers will also get access to three new Hulu Originals: Minimum Security, Unexpected Loves, and City of Blood. Disney+ will be livestreaming this year’s iHeartRadio music festival, featuring headliners like BTS, Cardi B, and Weezer. You can check out the full lineup here. The streamer will also premiere a new season of the animated Disney Jr. series Magicampers. Aside from the iHeartRadio Festival, Disney+ will also believe streaming events from the Korean eSports Organization. Yep, even CoComelon is getting spin-offs. The Melon Patch is a live-action educational series starring Ms. Applebury, the series’ music teacher. The other big streaming premiere of the month, Toy Story 5, is landing on Disney+ after crossing $1 billion at the box office and becoming the highest-grossing Toy Story movie so far. In the words of Clint Gage, who reviewed the Pixar sequel for IGN, "This time, the now-very-antique toys are faced with their most dangerous challenge yet… screen time." For the reality TV inclined, Disney+ will be picking up some new seasons of Pawn Stars, a History Channel classic, and the Pennsylvania-focused Paranormal State. It might only be September, but Disney+ is starting the celebrations with a special Halloween episode of Marvel’s Spidey and the Avengers. Announced alongside a new Simpsons movie, the 37th season of The Simpsons, which aired on Fox last year, is finally making its way to Disney+ this fall. Season 38 will be premiering on Fox the same day. Project Runway fans should enjoy the addition of the first three seasons of All-Stars that originally aired on Lifetime from 2012 to 2015. The second Halloween special this month comes from the very cute SuperKitties. Disney+ plans currently start at $11.99/month, and a free trial of the service is available through Hulu + Live TV. Disney+ is one of the few streaming services that hasn’t announced a price hike in 2026, though the service did go up by $2 last October. ESPN recently increased the price of its own streaming plans, which led to price hikes on select Disney+ bundles. Blythe (she/her) is an Audience Development Coordinator at IGN who, when she isn't following streaming news, spends way too much time in character customization screens and tracking down collectibles.
