Peacock recently raised all of its subscription pricing, so you may be looking to September's slate of releases to see just what that price increase gets you. The short answer is that you'll be getting much of the same from Peacock next month. YouTube Premium isn't getting added to the service until early 2027, and the highly anticipated Dungeon Crawler Carl series is even further away. What you will get is Universal Pictures movies, NBC shows, and a couple of Peacock Originals. If you're wondering what's worth watching, we've gathered together some of our top picks right here. You can also jump to all of the new releases for September for the full list by day. Happy Death day is a time travel horror movie that is quite entertaining. If you're looking for something fun to kick off the spooky season early, it's worth a watch. Here's what we said in our review: "Happy Death Day is a deliciously wicked treat with fun twists and a strong lead performance by Jessica Rothe. It won’t scare you, but it will entertain you with a cynical sense of humor and a few clever new twists on a familiar formula." - William Bibbiani What more can really be said about the Twilight movies? The first adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's popular YA book series is just as bad as you remember, but it's what put Robert Pattinson on the map. The following four movies did get better, and it's just one of those franchises that you have to go back and rewatch sometimes. There may be better vampire movies out there, but there's only one Twilight. The Paper is a mockumentary-style TV series set in the same universe as The Office. This is the only big Peacock Original for September. The premiere of season 2 comes after a well-received season 1, which we loved in our 8 out of 10 review last year: "The first season of The Paper (the first of several, I hope) is getting an 8. Ironically, a show about the place of ink-and-paper journalism in a social media era is weaker because it’s clearly wanting to be a 20+ episode season kind of show that fell victim to dropping in the binge-and-stream era. The tried and true formula creator Greg Daniels has honed across a handful of successful series is on full display in The Paper. The character archetypes you’d expect from an Office spin-off are here, as is the easy sense of positivity and that change for the good is possible that you might expect from the creator of Parks and Rec. Maybe it moves a little too briskly for its own good, arriving at places we can all see coming, but they’re satisfying places and it’s funny the whole trip." - Clint Gage You're either a fan of Wes Anderson movies or you're not, there's not really any inbetween. For those who love what the director has to offer, his latest film The Phoenician scheme is arriving later this month. Here's what we said in our review: "A new Wes Anderson movie is always an event, but the writer-director’s latest whirligig comedy, The Phoenician Scheme, might be his slightest in a couple decades. Benicio del Toro is predictably deadpan (maybe too deadpan) as a powerful 1950s European robber baron beset by assassins and intent on passing down his entire empire and inheritance to his estranged daughter. Much of the rest of the extended Anderson acting troupe shows up in minor roles, as usual, while Michael Cera makes a particularly amusing debut in Wes World as a Norwegian bug expert along for the wild ride. As with all of Anderson’s comedies, this one has big laughs, visual invention, and some startlingly dark moments. But it also can’t help but look like a minor disappointment after the richer Asteroid City. The major problem: There’s just not much to del Toro’s character, a Royal Tenenbaum without the spunk." - A.A. This will get you both services at a decent discount, which opens up the full library of Apple TV Originals. You can also get access to Peacock via a Walmart+ subscription, which is a great option for those looking for additional savings via shopping benefits. Although Peacock does not offer its own free trial, you can technically get the service via the Walmart+ free trial. New Walmart+ subscribers get 30 days free, and the service includes either a Peacock Premium or Paramount+ subscription.
