Final Fantasy Resonance Isn't Getting a Physical Edition on Xbox
About
Overview
Final Fantasy Resonance is set to release for PS5, Switch 2, Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 22. It’s a new turn-based RPG with HD-2D graphics and a story based on the mobile game Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius. Resonance is available to preorder now in two different editions. Below, we dive into what comes in each edition, as well as what preorder bonuses to expect. Let’s take a look. PS5 Switch 2 Switch Xbox Series X|S PC The standard edition is available in physical format at all the usual retailers. A couple things are noteworthy here: first, there is no physical edition for Xbox — sorry, folks. Second, the Switch 2 version of the game will come on a Game-Key Card, which is disappointing. Whatever version you preorder, you’ll get the base game, plus the preorder bonus, which is detailed below. The deluxe edition comes with the base game, preorder bonuses, and the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack. Here’s how Square Enix describes these digital extras in the game’s description: it “contains an item that transforms your chocobo's appearance into magitek armor, an item exclusive to this pack that unlocks a certain character's Fel Meteor Limit Burst, and useful items to aid you at the start of your journey.” Here are the deluxe edition’s extras: Preorder Final Fantasy Resonance, and you’ll get the following in-game goodies: Final Fantasy Resonance is the beloved series’ first foray into the bold new(ish) world of HD-2D. It takes the story of the now-defunct mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and re-fashions it into an entirely new game, free of the gatcha trappings of the mobile game. This is a single-player RPG through and through, complete with a new overworld and battle system. It has plenty of Final Fantasy signifiers, like world crystals being sought out by the villain, chocobos and airships to ride, battle summons, and (probably, I’m just guessing here) a guy named Cid. You can even call iconic heroes of other Final Fantasy games, like Cloud, Zidane, and Lightning, to help you in battle. It looks pretty cool.
