How to craft an engagement ring in Fields of Mistria

As soon as Fields of Mistria 1.0 landed I rushed to shove gifts into my lovers' faces and drag them on dates to hustle my way to the coveted 10 heart threshold for marriage, only to find out that, woof, crafting an engagement ring is a real investment! The material cost isn't actually that steep if you've already played a lot, but it does require you to get to the final level of the mines. I'd sort of neglected unlocking those final seals while totally engrossed in friendship grinding, which was apparently the wrong thing to do.

How to craft an engagement ring

To craft an engagement ring, you have to reach level 100 in the mines to unlock additional recipes for The Dragon Forge on level 90. After you make a Dragon-Forged Core, you can craft an engagement ring at a normal blacksmithing station.

Engagement ring recipe:

• 2 Diamonds
• 4 Mistril ingots
• 4 Gold ingots
• 1 Dragon-Forged Core (craft at The Dragon Forge on mines level 90)
  • 5 Monster core
  • 1 Mistril ingot
  • 1 Pink diamond
  • 1 Ancient firefly
  • 1 Medium essence stone

Engagement ring materials shortcuts

You can't just throw down the cash for an engagement ring outright, but you can pay your way to avoid some of the material grinding if you're ore poor but have tons of tesserae.

What you can buy or craft:

• Buy 40 gold ore from the blacksmith for 8,000 tesserae
  • Craft 4x gold ingots at the blacksmithing station
• Buy 50 mistril ore from the blacksmith for 20,000 tesserae
  • Craft 5 mistril ingots at the blacksmithing station (1 extra ingot is for the Dragon-Forged core you need to craft)
• Buy a Large Bundle of Stone to get 100 stone (you need 90) at the carpenter shop for 2,000 tesserae
  • Craft 2 diamonds at the stone refinery (in the mines entrance) with 70 stone
  • Craft 1 medium essence stone at the stone refinery with 20 stone

What you need to find or grind:

• 5 monster cores
  • Dropped by lantern enemies (mines levels 1-39) or by flame spirits (mines levels 61-99)
• 1 pink diamond
  • Mine pink diamond nodes (mines levels 81+)
  • OR take your partner on a gem cutting date on Saturday or Sunday for a chance to get one as a reward
• 1 ancient firefly
  • Catch with a net in the Ancient Ruins (mines level 81+)
