Nintendo Direct Announced, Focused on Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave
About
Overview
A Nintendo Direct broadcast focused on Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave will air this week, it's been announced. The special stream will be broadcast tomorrow, Tuesday August 4, at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK time. Be sure to tune in then for 20 minutes of new details surrounding Nintendo's highly-anticipated Switch 2 exclusive RPG — and of course, we'll have all of the announcements right here on IGN. We last got a peek at Fortune's Weave during Nintendo's big June Direct broadcast, when we learned that the next entry in Nintendo's long-running tactical role-playing series will land on September 17, 2026. This is the first major launch in Nintendo's beloved RPG franchise since 2023's Switch title Fire Emblem: Engage, which followed 2019's hugely successful Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Fortune's Weave features the series' familiar turn-based gameplay and colorful characters, this time set in and around an enormous arena, site of a championship named the Heroic Games. "Discover an intertwining story of strength and steel in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, only on Nintendo Switch 2," reads an official blurb. Announced during last September's Nintendo Direct, the game got a positive reception from fans who noted simularities to Three Houses (Heroes' Relics and Crests return, as does an older Sothis). Now, there's just over a month to go until its launch on September 17, 2026. What would you like to see revealed tomorrow? Tom Phillips is IGN's News Editor.
