Nintendo Drops the Price of Switch 2 Memory Cards for Its Summer Sale

Overview

If there's one upgrade I think every Switch 2 owner should make, it's adding more storage. The console's built-in 256GB is a welcome step up from the original Switch, but it fills up surprisingly fast when plenty of third-party games can take up 50GB or more as digital downloads.

That's why I'd recommend grabbing one of the best Switch 2 microSD Express cards while you can, especially if you spot a good deal.

Nintendo Switch 2 Memory Cards Drop to Just $39

As part of Nintendo's Summer Sale, the officially licensed Samsung 256GB microSD Express Card has dropped to just $39 with free shipping. If you've been waiting to expand your Switch 2 storage, this is one of the best prices available right now.

That extra space goes a long way as well. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is currently the biggest storage hog on Switch 2, taking up around 90 to 100GB on its own. Split Fiction needs roughly 70GB, Cyberpunk 2077 comes in at around 60GB, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment requires 44GB. It really doesn't take many games before that 256GB starts looking a lot smaller.

We saw a decent Switch 2 memory card deal during Prime Day, but that offer has now ended. This one actually beats it by $0.99, making it the lowest price currently available.

At $39, you're saving $20.99 off the list price, and it's the best deal I've seen since MAR10 Day earlier this year. It doesn't quite match the $35 low we saw on Samsung's P9 microSD Express card at the start of 2026, but considering how volatile prices currently are in the tech industry, it's still an excellent deal.

One final reminder: microSD Express cards are still the only way to expand the Switch 2's storage, so if you're planning to build up a digital library, it's less of a luxury and more of a necessity.

Nintendo Summer Sale - Even More Deals

Memory cards aren't the only deal up for grabs as part of Nintendo's Summer Sale either, as there are also plenty of discounts to be found on Switch 2 games, accessories, and more.

Details

That even includes games like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Tennis Fever, and more, all down to all-time low prices for Switch 2.

Plus, if you haven't picked up a Switch 2 yet, the "Switch 2: Choose Your Own Game Bundle" remains the best-value console deal of the summer. I'm cheating a little bit here, as this is an ongoing deal, but it remains one of the best, and probably the most affordable, console offer of 2026 so far.
