Nintendo Switch 2 Drops to Just $399 at Woot Ahead of Incoming Price Hikes

As with most Woot promotions, this offer is extremely limited and only available until 11:58 PM CT on July 25, or while supplies last. If you want my advice, it's worth acting quickly if you've been holding out for a deal, as I don't expect this to last long.

If it does sell out, or you're after an alternative deal on a Switch 2, Woot is also currently selling a certified refurbished "Grade A" Switch 2 console bundle, including Mario Kart World, for $439.

The retailer states that the console has been "inspected and guaranteed to have minimal cosmetic damage & has successfully passed a full diagnostic test which ensures like-new functionality & removal of any prior-user's personal information. Bundle includes OEM accessories and retail box."

Moreover, according to this forum post by a Woot staffer, "the [Mario Kart World] code was either not used by the original customer and is still in the box or a new game code has been added to the box."

The refurbished bundle packs a 90 day warranty, and is a wonderfully good deal if you don't mind going down the refurb route to pick up a cheap console.

If you'd rather pick up a new console with a game, the Nintendo Switch 2 "Choose Your Game" bundle is another option worth considering. Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia as a digital game download for $499.

Nintendo has confirmed that Switch 2 pricing will increase on September 1, which means discounts like this could become much harder to find in the months ahead. With demand for the console still running high, there are no guarantees we'll see a better offer before the new pricing takes effect.

Compared to buying the console and game separately, this bundle saves you $30 overall.

Before the price hike goes into effect on September 1, it's certainly an offer to keep in mind if you've been looking to buy the console. We may not see another pop up before then, either.

But, it's also not quite as good of a deal as you can find at Woot right now, especially if it's your first time shopping there.

Is the Switch 2 Worth It in 2026?

We're now over a year into the Switch 2's life cycle, after it's massive release in June 2025, and... things are looking pretty tidy so far! We gave the Switch 2 a 7/10 in our IGN review last year, and while that's still a "Good" rating, there's always plenty of room for improvements.

But, I have to say, things are certainly looking peachy for Nintendo fans in 2026, and beyond. While it was slow off the mark, there's a whole slew of games that are worth playing on the Switch 2 right now, with plenty more to come in the near future.

Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Kirby Air Riders, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Pokemon Pokopia, and much more are already great additions. There's also the Star Fox remake which just release, and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave which is coming later this year.

Third party games are also looking mighty impressive on the console-handheld hybrid, with Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade being some of the most impressive ports I've ever seen on what is a miracle piece of hardware.

Looking to the future, we also have the likes of Pokémon Winds and Waves, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, Splatoon Raiders, Nintendo Sports Resort, and loads more to look forward to.

All in all, for what is the most affordable console on the market right now, I think the Switch 2 is absolutely worth buying in 2026, especially if you can get in before the September price hike.

Let me break that down for you as well. As the Switch 2 is jumping to $500, you're effectively saving $100 if you opt for the Switch 2 deal at Woot (and qualify for the new customer promo rate). Otherwise, picking it up for $439 as a refurb offer with a game, or $427 new with the standard discount via the GIFT26 promo code, are both perfectly great deals which ultimately save you money in the long term.

Should I Wait for Black Friday?

Nintendo surprised shoppers with a Switch 2 deal during last year's Black Friday sale, taking $50 off the Mario Kart World Bundle. There's a good chance we'll see something similar again this November, whether that's another bundle discount or money off the standalone console.

That said, the upcoming $50 price increase in September changes the equation. Any Black Friday discount will likely just bring the console back down to around today's pricing, rather than offering a genuinely better deal. Saving $100 right now is significant, and unless you absolutely need to wait, it's probably the smarter buy. If you're shopping for Christmas, there's nothing stopping you from picking one up now and keeping it tucked away until December.
