The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park Announced
About
Overview
Massive Entertainment, developers of Tom Clancy's The Division 2, announced a new DLC for the long-running online action-RPG/third-person shooter at a community panel at Gamescom. The new expansion is called Echoes of Central Park, and a full reveal will happen on September 24. The Manhattan-set live-service game will finally head into Central Park due to a distress call from inside it. Echoes promises a darker tone wrapped in fear and mystery, with neither players nor their in-game avatars sure about what's inside or what Central Park has been like since the outbreak. Massive promises ample replayability for this DLC, including "a few twists" to give gameplay a unique feel. Speaking of gameplay, the developerse also want to lean heavier into gameplay here, rather than just new story content. Exactly how that will manifest itself remains to be seen. IGN gave The Division 2 an 8.5 out of 10 back in 2019 and the 2020 DLC Warlords of New York an 8 out of 10. Ryan McCaffrey is IGN's executive editor of previews and host of IGN's weekly Xbox show, Podcast Unlocked, and a co-host of Next-Gen Console Watch. He's a North Jersey guy, so it's "Taylor ham," not "pork roll." Debate it with him on Twitter at @DMC_Ryan.![]()
