The Hedge Knight Graphic Novel Is At Its Lowest Price In Nearly a Decade
About
Overview
George R.R. Martin's The Hedge Knight: The Graphic Novel is down to its lowest price since 2019. Available as an Amazon Lightning deal, meaning it's at this price until all copies have been sold, you can pick up the paperback graphic novel for just $7.40, 61% off the sticker price of $18.99. This is a version of the source material for HBO's A Knight of the Seven Kingdom series, which itself is adapted from Martin's trio of novellas of the same name. Set 100 years before the events of A Song of Ice and Fire/ Game of Thrones, The Hedge Knight follows Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire Egg on three different jaunts around Westeros. This 184-page graphic novel adaptation of the original short stories are abridged from George R.R. Martin's original work by Ben Avery, with art from Mike S. Miller. This edition also comes with 15 pages of character art, sketches, original art from Miller, and a gallery of each issue's original and variant covers. Each short story isn't very long on its own, but as a graphic novel they're a bit easier to digest if you're pressed for time, plus the addition of a visual aid is helpful in imagining the world and the events. In other Westeros news, Game of Thrones mastermind George R.R. Martin has recently shared an update on his personal blog for the first time in six months. The author talks about aging, his health, and how he's "falling further and further behind" and that "[s]o much has been happening, it's been overwhelming" regarding his various ongoing projects. If you'd rather check out the three short stories (The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and the Mystery Knight) as Martin intended, the paperback book is on sale for $13.10, usually $20.
