The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe: Marvel Reveals Kooky Crossover Special
About
Overview
Apparently, 2026 is the year of the unexpected crossover. We already saw Marvel and DC play nice with Superman/Spider-Man #1 and Spider-Man/Superman #1. Last week, DC revealed Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World's Weirdest. And now Marvel has announced what might just be the strangest crossover yet, The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe. The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe is a one-shot special that drags Kermit and the gang into the Marvel Universe. The book features a main story by writer Chip Zdarsky (Captain America) and artist Pete Woods (Titans), along with several backup tales. The issue is designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show. Check out the slideshow gallery below to see cover art for The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1: Here's Marvel's official summary of the stories included in this issue: “With the great power of two iconic properties comes great responsibility. I promise to not let down Kermit, Fozzie and Animal the way Spider-Man let down his Uncle Ben,” Zdarsky siad in a statement. “It’s impossible to overstate how excited I was to write for Miss Piggy, whom I consider to be one of the greatest icons of the last hundred years, a character who speaks to every generation. I also got to write Deadpool. And Pete Woods is turning in the most stunning, detailed and joyous pages. Seeing his take on these characters interacting is a real delight.” The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1 will be released on September 23. You can preorder a copy at your local comic shop.
