Overview

Since you're reading this, chances are you've thought to yourself, "I bet I could make a better game than that." I know I have. Well, the chance for us to prove it will soon be upon us: MMORPG-maker Let's Build a Dungeon is launching into early access February 11, 2027.

In Let's Build a Dungeon, you take control of a videogame studio making an MMORPG. It's part management simulator, part RPG maker. You'll be in charge of hiring devs, assigning work, even deciding if you'll make your workers crunch or not.

Monsters gather around an old-fashioned PC. The Let's Build a Dungeon logo is shown.

Let's Build a Dungeon has you control a videogame studio and make the MMO it's developing. You've got to keep your players happy or they'll leave bad reviews and play something else. The game is launching into early access February 11, 2027. Wishlist it on Steam.

But on top of the management side of things, you also have to actually make the game. You'll be in charge of what goes where, from enemies to roads to shops, everything, the world is your oyster. You can play the game yourself, but it doesn't stop there.

The problem is, if you make a stinker of an MMO, your in-game players are going to make sure you know. They'll leave reviews, criticising features and asking for others. In the trailer shown at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026, we see people clamouring for more environments, bosses, quests, better servers. God, do us players really sound that needy and ungrateful? I guess we do.

We'll get to find out what it's like on the other side of the aisle February 11, 2027, when Let's Build a Dungeon launches in early access. Maybe it'll make you think twice before posting a mean review. Do I find it kind of ironic that a game all about running a videogame studio is launching in early access? Yes. Yes, I do. It's all very meta. Wishlist the game on Steam.
