Magic: The Gathering Unveils Masters of the Universe Secret Lair Drop Featuring He-Man and Skeletor

We just took a swing at predicting Magic’s Universes Beyond sets for 2027, but the long-running card game’s Secret Lairs are much harder to predict. Case in point, the next one stars He-Man, Skeletor, and other classic characters from the Masters of the Universe franchise.

Dubbed “The Most Powerful Superdrop in the Universe”, Wizards of the Coast teased the set at MagicCon Amsterdam in recent weeks, but now we have the full list. Here’s what’s included when they go on sale on September 14.

Magic’s Next Secret Lair Stars He-Man and Skeletor

The Superdrop contains five sets of cards, with three including five cards and two having six.

“By The Power of Grayskull” is all about He-Man and Man-at-Arms, as well as Orko. It includes the following:

• 1x Winota, Joiner of Forces as "He-Man, Champion of Eternia"
• 1x Crackle with Power
• 1x Delina, Wild Mage as "Orko, Trollan Magician"
• 1x Bruenor Battlehammer as "Man-at-Arms, Master Tactician"
• 1x Konda's Banner as "He-Man's Battle Harness"

“Nyah-ha-ha!” is all about the legendary baddie Skeletor, who is offered as a reprint of Tinybones, the Pickpocket. Props to Wizards of the Coast for leaning into the meme with Tasha’s Hideous Laughter pulling double duty as Skeletor’s Villainous Glee.

She-Ra gets her own set, too. “She-Ra, Princess of Power” includes the titular royal, Swift Wind, Bow, and Catra, as well as a neat-looking full-art Sol Ring.

The other six-card set includes Man-E-Faces, Beast Man, and Teela, as well as The Sorceress, Evil-Lyn, and Trap Jaw. It’s called “Allies and Enemies of Eternia”.

Last but not least, “Sold Separately” is a fun nod to the mounts and weapons of the He-Man universe, and includes Battle Cat, the Sword of Power, and a particularly slick Command Tower that has two sides.

Each drop is $29.99 for the non-foil version and $39.99 for the foil one, but by spending $149, you’ll get an additional promo card, Swan Song, complete with He-Man art. If you want the whole lot in foil and non-foil, you’ll need to spend $334.99.
